A Unique Occasion |

Mark Provincial Grand Lodge Meeting on Zoom 8th September 2020 |

| Today I was privileged to attend a unique event which has never happened before, the Provincial Mark Meeting which is usually held in May but of course had to be cancelled due to the Corona Virus lockdown was held by computer on the Zoom platform. | ||
| The PGM and his executive decided that rather than it not happening it was well worth trying it for the first time via computer and it turned out well worth it. | ||
| Once everyone online had given greetings to each other the meeting started on time at 10 am, the PGM RW Keith Alan Beardmore welcomed everybody and thanked them for attending under these strange circumstances. The full order of business as per the summons was worked through in excellent style by all the Brethren who had a contribution to make. I really enjoyed the meeting and seeing all my friends from the Mark Lodges all over the Province, it was quite surreal as everyone was in the appropriate shirt and tie, which I felt added to the occasion. | ||
| There are a couple of shaky screen shots (my fault) showing what a Zoom Meeting looks like just in case you haven’t yet taken part in one, (I can say it’s a lot better when you are actually taking part.) The PGM gave his usual address to the meeting before closing and did said that all the Provincial Acting officers would stay in post for 21/22 basically due to them missing out on the honour afforded to them and not taking part in any Team visits. | ||
| All too soon the meeting was over and the PGM declared the meeting closed, I felt deflated because it was now back to the restrained conditions we are all living under, I must admit I am finding it harder as the weeks go on and I’m wondering when / if it’s ever going to end. | ||
| Keep yourselves safe and stay in contact with each other, all your friends in the Mark and RAM, call your family and friends, I make a point of phoning all my Lodge members at least once a week just to see how they are doing. Do it today, Telephone, E Mail, TX, even the old-fashioned way, send a letter, it will be a good surprise. | ||
| Looking forward to my next Mark meeting to see all the friends I have made and those I have yet to meet. | ||
